An exhibit of musician Bob Dylan's art will be on display in London this spring, featuring drawings and sketches from the singer's time on the road between 1989 and 1992.

The Halcyon Gallery announced Friday that fans will be able to peruse the art starting June 14, at an exhibit called The Drawn Blank Series.

A gallery release described the works as invoking feelings of "anonymity, transience, rootlessness and sometimes loneliness."

"This is an incredible opportunity for viewing this powerful body of work, which gives an insight into the artist's soul and which have already been the subject of widespread critical acclaim," the gallery's president Paul Green told BBC News.

The first exhibition of Dylan's work opened in the eastern German city of Chemnitz last year at the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz museum.

The 170 portraits of women and men, still lifes, cityscapes and landscapes are the same ones to be featured in the British show.

The 66-year-old musician, who has sold more than 110 million albums worldwide, was recently awarded a special Pulitzer Prize for his impact on popular music and American culture.

He was honoured for his "lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power."

Dylan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in 1982.
