Stunning Lexus LF-A concept goes topless at Detroit Show. The lid has been lifted on the Lexus LF-A as visitors to the Detroit Show have been treated to a drop-top version of the Japanese supercar. Based on the existing Coupé, it promises 200mph wind in the hair thrills. Called the Roadster it shares most of its carbon-fibre body panels with the hardtop model. However, there have been some changes to the rear - the most obvious being new wraparound tail lights. Another addition is an active spoiler that keeps the LF-A stable at speed. Under the long bonnet is the familiar 500bhp 5.0-litre V10. Connected to quick-shifting, paddle operated semi-auto gearbox it promises to provide blistering performance. Thanks to a host of chassis strengthening measures, the Roadster's bodyshell is as stiff as the Coupé's. Combined with a near 50/50 weight balance it should ensure exceptional handling.
