Cirrus Logic Inc., a maker of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, said Thursday it agreed to acquire fellow chipmaker Apex Microtechnology for $42 million in cash. The company expects the acquisition to grow earnings in the fiscal third quarter of 2008. Apex, based in Tucson, Ariz.

Payment technology company Hypercom Corp. said Thursday William Keiper will resign as chief executive and a member of the board of directors effective Aug. 15. The company didn't offer a reason for Keiper's departure in a press release.

Internet media company Yahoo Inc. said Thursday it closed its $650 million acquisition of the 80 percent of Right Media Inc. it didn't already own. The purchase of online advertising exchange Right Media was announced in April, shortly after rival Google Inc.
