Shares of Chinese online gaming and software company CDC Corp. rose Tuesday after the company's software subsidiary, CDC Software, said it acquired PlanTec Ltd. CDC shares added 22 cents, or 2.4 percent, to $9.33 in afternoon trading. Terms of the purchase were not released. PlanTec is a business intelligence and IT consulting service company based in Australia, CDC Software said. It has more than 30 employees in Brisbane and Sydney, the company said. The deal fits with the plan of its Australia consulting services company, Praxa Australia, to grow in the country's IT market, CDC said. It also augments Praxa's place in the area's business intelligence and services market, the company said. __________ Questions or comments about this story should be directed to the Financial News desk of The Associated Press at 212-621-7190.
