Tecumseh Products sets start of office relocation

TECUMSEH, Mich — The relocation of Tecumseh Products Co. from its headquarters here to a new site near Ann Arbor will begin next week, a company executive said yesterday.

Most of the firm’s 200 employees and their offices will be moved to the new site, the Valley Ranch Business Park, south of I-94 in Pittsfield Township, by the end of this month, said Jim Nicholson, chief financial officer. A company research and development unit won’t move until the end of the year.

Tecumseh Products, one of the largest firms in Lenawee County, announced in March that it would leave its home of 74 years for suburban Ann Arbor to be more convenient for customers and suppliers and to be closer to Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
